MEASUREMENT WORKSHOP

Which calculator should I use?

Choose a tool according to the part you are actually measuring, not just the room. A screen mesh estimate is different from a complete replacement-screen order dimension; a weatherstripping length estimate cannot choose a sealing profile.

Example: three windows, three different decisions

A homeowner has one screen with torn fiberglass mesh, one bent frame and one missing complete screen. First use the repair-or-replace decision guide. Estimate mesh area only for the reusable frame. Record diagonals and mounting hardware for the bent frame. For the missing screen, the measurement path assistant explains why the opening alone may not be enough to order a replacement. A calculator should not turn a measurement taken from the wrong reference into a confident purchasing instruction.

Calculations run in the browser, require JavaScript, and use the inputs you enter. Save important readings to paper or a printed worksheet, check units, then verify the exact manufacturer's ordering instructions.
