FREE PROJECT RECORD / PRINTABLE
Window & Door Measurement Worksheet
Write down repeatable measurements for a screen frame, blind recess, or exterior door gap. Make a printable record to take to a shop or compare with your manufacturer instructions.
What should you measure?
Screen frame: record outer width and height consistently, plus both diagonals. Equal diagonals do not guarantee the frame is free of twists or bends. See our screen squareness guide.
Blind recess: take width at top, middle and bottom; height at left, middle and right; note the usable mounting depth and obstructions. The correct ordering height varies by treatment type. See the inside-mount guide.
Door gap: record hinge, center and latch positions relative to the same threshold surface, and measure with the door closed and safely supported. See door gap measuring.
How to use the record
- Pick the project type and label the room so you do not confuse openings.
- Measure twice with a rigid tape or caliper as appropriate. Include units on paper.
- Fill in the applicable fields and add material/model notes.
- Build the summary and print it. Verify the order dimensions independently before purchasing.
