Who runs MendNook

MendNook is an educational site about window and door measurements. For privacy questions, contact the publisher at contact@mendnook.com.

Information you choose to send

You can read pages and use calculators without registering. Measurement inputs and the printable worksheet are processed in your current browser tab, not uploaded to a MendNook database. If you email our publisher address, the email service receives your address and message so we can review or respond to your inquiry. Do not include passwords or confidential details in messages.

Hosting, security and technical logs

MendNook is hosted using Cloudflare Workers Static Assets. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, browser information, requested URLs and related security and delivery logs according to its service terms and privacy practices. This site does not itself provide user accounts, collect payment information or store worksheet entries in an online profile. Contact messages sent to the MendNook domain are forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to a verified Google-hosted destination inbox; those services process the message and sender address for mail delivery and replies. We do not promise a specific provider retention period for these systems.

Optional preferences stored on your device

The dark/light display preference and guides or tools you deliberately save in Your Workbench use browser local storage on your device only. On individual guides, decisions and tools, an optional project-note field lets you save up to 1,000 characters of notes on this device when you explicitly select Save notes on this device. Saved notes can contain measurements you type, so please avoid sensitive personal details. On guide pages you may also explicitly save a self-reported progress stage (planning, parts checked, working, needs verification, finished, or professional advice) in this browser. This is your own status, not proof that a repair was independently verified. You can clear that stage on each guide, and downloads or copies of a project checklist are triggered only when you select them. MendNook does not upload saved links, progress stages, project notes or your theme choice to an account or server. Notes and stages remain only in this browser until you clear them here or remove browser site data; clearing Workbench bookmarks does not automatically erase individual notes or progress stages. Calculator input fields are not automatically saved. This feature is optional and the core guides and calculators remain available without it.

Optional website analytics

MendNook uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) measurement ID G-95CKK6LE9Z to understand readership of its DIY guides, broad traffic sources, countries and device categories. The Google tag script is loaded on production pages with analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization initially denied (Google Consent Mode v2). Even before you decide or if you reject, downloading the Google script may disclose technical connection data such as IP address and browser information to Google, and Google may process limited cookieless consent or technical signals. MendNook deliberately disables automatic GA4 pageview events until you opt in. Choosing Accept analytics grants analytics-cookie permission and sends a GA4 pageview; rejecting leaves analytics-cookie permission denied. This is not an AdSense advertising consent mechanism.

Your choice is stored on your device; use Cookie settings in the footer to change it. If you withdraw consent, GA4 analytics-cookie permission is revoked and MendNook attempts to remove related first-party analytics cookies. Future pageviews do not send full GA4 pageview events unless you accept again. You may also clear cookies and browser storage in your browser settings.

With analytics consent, Google may receive visited page URLs, approximate location derived from network information, device and browser details, cookie-based identifiers and related interaction data. Google Analytics may use first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. Google processes these data under its own terms. MendNook does not upload measurements entered in its calculators, project notes or workbench contents to GA4. Core guides and tools work without analytics permission.

Advertising: current status and intended use

At this stage MendNook does not run Google AdSense display-ad scripts or paid ad placements. MendNook includes Google AdSense publisher verification metadata and a publisher-authorized ads.txt entry while its site review is pending; these verification files do not themselves serve ads or set advertising cookies.

If Google AdSense ads are enabled later: third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve advertisements based on a person's earlier visits to MendNook or other websites. Google's advertising cookies help Google and its partners select ads based on visits to this and other sites. Other ad technology partners may also use their own cookies when enabled in the publisher's ad settings. We will update this section with the actual ad vendors and any other technologies in use before activation.

You can manage Google's personalized ad settings through Google My Ad Center and learn about opting out of some participating third-party personalized ads at YourAdChoices. Opting out of personalized ads does not necessarily remove all advertising or cookies. You can also manage or block cookies in your browser, though necessary site features may work differently.

For residents in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google requires a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB TCF for personalized AdSense ads. The publisher will configure a certified CMP and required choices before any applicable ads are served. MendNook currently has not activated a CMP or AdSense display ads. This policy text alone does not collect consent or replace a certified consent management platform.
