About MendNook

MendNook publishes practical window, blind and door measurement and home repair guides.

We publish practical reference pages for homeowners and renters who need accurate measurements and clear instructions for common window and door repairs. Our focus is practical window and door measurements, screening, blinds, and draft-sealing—where precise sizes can save a wasted purchase. We are an informational publisher, not a screen manufacturer, installer or retail store.

What makes our articles useful

We use clearly stated measurements, concrete examples, decision checklists and links to manufacturer or retailer installation references. Where models differ, we explain that limitation rather than guessing a universal answer. Our measurement calculators are free and work in your browser without sending measurements to a server.

What we have not done

MendNook publishes document-based educational guidance rather than independent laboratory tests or on-site service reports. We use manufacturer references where available, original explanatory diagrams, comparison tables and working measurement calculators. We do not claim that MendNook has installed the products, personally tested them, or observed repair results. We do not publish fabricated product ratings, hands-on testing claims or paid rankings. How to use MendNook for one repair

Our Find a Fix page starts with symptoms. If you already know the project, choose the relevant project learning path or topic hub. Read the full instructions before buying parts, use a browser-based calculator for a material estimate, then record exact dimensions in the measurement worksheet. Manufacturer instructions and local safety rules take priority over an example on this site.

A simple example: if a screen looks too loose in its opening, first determine whether the mesh is loose within the frame or the whole frame moves within the window track. Those conditions call for different checks. Our repair-or-replace matrix explains what to inspect before deciding. We do not sell replacement frames or receive a commission for choosing a more expensive option.

Who is responsible for the content?

MendNook is an independent informational website. Articles are published under the MendNook editorial desk rather than under invented personal expert profiles. We identify our research-based approach and its limitations. Our editorial policy explains source selection, the distinction between diagrams and physical evidence, safety limitations, and corrections. The publisher can be reached through the Contact page. We do not represent product manufacturers, retailers or trade organizations.

Corrections

If you spot an outdated recommendation, inaccurate measurement or broken source link, please contact the editorial team using our contact page. Include the affected page, exact sentence and a manufacturer/manual source where available. We review credible corrections and update content rather than silently rewriting a technical claim.
